Why We Must Always Stand with Israel and Understanding the Significance of the October Wars in 2023 and 1973

October 7, 2023, was the last day of the Biblical holiday of Sukkot 2023, the celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles, a time when God tells us that if we build a “Sukkah” or tabernacle, He will come and dwell or tabernacle with us, and it began another Holy Jewish holiday called Simchat Torah. This Jewish holiday is the very next day after Sukkot and celebrates the Torah or the Old Testament portion of the Word of God. It is a time when the Jewish people will “rewind” the scrolls of the Torah to start reading the “Parashas” or assigned portions of scriptures, which are to be read on each Sabbath Day of the year. It is an incredibly joyous holiday where they take the scrolls of the Torah, have a feast to celebrate them, and dance with them to show their great love and joy for God’s Word and God’s law, for the law of God is the nature of God and also the pathway to the blessings of God.

October 7th, 2023, at approximately 6:30am, the Sabbath Day, while most of the people of Israel were still sleeping, the terrorist group, Hamas, launched over 5000 missiles upon Adonai’s Holy land, killing 300 innocent people and injuring over 1000; although this has just begun so those numbers are sadly and surely to rise. They have also captured dozens of Israeli people from their homes and are beating and capturing Israeli soldiers and are holding them hostage.

Such an attack by these terrorists is nothing less than a monstrous work of evil upon the Israeli people. But something else that Hamas does not know. An to attack the land and people of Israel is to attack their God… our God… my God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

It doesn’t matter what some politicians or people will say. The truth of our history lies within the pages of God’s Holy Word and the truth of the matter is the people of Israel are not and never have been terrorists– as some have claimed, and the land of Israel does not belong to Palestine as many still claim. From the beginning, God, Adonai declared it to Himself. The land of Israel has always belonged to HIM and it always will. It is ADONAI’S land. He created it and He is the one who decreed and declared the boundaries of it in His Holy Word. Although man has altered those boundaries, the Word of God remains unchanged and ever true.
“So the Lord gave Israel all the land which He had sworn to give their fathers, and they possessed it and lived in it.” Joshua 21:34. God, Adonai, is the One who decreed and declared it belongs to His Chosen people, the Jewish people, the Israelites and there are many other scriptures written in the Holy Bible to validate this sacred claim.

According to the Word of God anyone who comes against the Israelites and the land of Israel will stand in the judgment of Adonai, as it is written in the “avot” or “avos”, the first blessing of God, Adonai in Genesis 12:2-3,
“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and I will curse those who curse you.” While God is speaking this verse to Abraham, He is also intending it to be for all of the descendants that He promised to bless Abraham through Isaac, not Ishmael as it is written in Genesis 17:18-19 “And Abraham said to God, “Oh that Ishmael might live before you!”  God said, “No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him.”

Anyone who thinks the verse of Genesis 12:3 “I will bless those who bless you and I will curse those who curse you.” is not the truth and thinks they can go against Israel untouched, well… considered yourself warned. Our God, Adonai is an AWESOME, LOVING, GOOD and MERCIFUL God, which is why, I believe, he has allowed this situation with Hamas and Hezbollah to go on as long as it has. God has given them mercy and time to come to places of peace and hopefully salvation. They have chosen poorly. It is written in John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” The Word of God is not just written words of God, it is God. It is a Holy extension of Himself, and it is the truth. God will never bend from His Word; He will fulfill it and those who go against Israel will be cursed according to the Word and Will of Adonai.

I don’t believe Hamas understands the judgment they have brought upon themselves. If you don’t know much about the Hamas terrorist group, I encourage you, Google them and study the facts of who this group is and what kind of atrocities they commit. It will help you to understand the dire need of our constant prayer for Israel and its people. It is a group that ISIS members have come to participate in… that should tell you all you need to know. Sadly, I am sadly certain they will show the world exactly who they are and what evils they are capable of doing. In fact, my husband and I would have to say, “evil” is not even a strong enough word to describe them.

But in order for us to understand the significance of the date of this attack starting on October 7th, 2023, we need to look back in history to the date of October 6th, 1973, which holds another significant meaning for the nation of Israel. It is important to remember that the dates of the Jewish holidays move from year to year because God’s calendar is different from the Western calendar. God marks His days by the moon, not by the sun, so Yom Kippur fell late that year in the fall season.

The Yom Kippur War was an attack upon Israel by a coalition of Arab states led by Egypt and Syria when they led a surprise attack on Israel on the Holiest of days of the Jewish year, Yom Kippur, which is a solemn day of Atonement, a time for forgiveness and cleansing. Without going into too much detail about that war, I will just write that it ended with victory for the land of Israel. There were many testimonies of Miracles performed by God, Adonai, during the Yom Kippur War which led to Israel’s victory, which can be researched. I state that because it is important to remember that God is never going to let His people fight without His hand being directly involved in every aspect of each and every battle and–God never ever breaks His Word.
God’s Word IS the truth of which all truth is defined.

It is very important to understand that a 50-year anniversary isn’t just an “anniversary” to Adonai.
For those of us who study the teachings of Messianic-Jewish Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, we know that a 50-year anniversary, according to the scriptures found in Leviticus and Deuteronomy, it is a very special mark of time called a 50-year Jubilee. A Jubilee is known as time of return. If you read Rabbi Cahn’s books The Oracle,
The Harbinger, and The Harbinger II, you will learn how the teachings of God’s Jubilee can apply to many aspects of return, but in this case, when we are discussing the land of Israel, simply stated, according to the scriptures when land has been taken or lost, upon a 50-year Jubilee, it is returned to the rightful owner.
Leviticus 25:13 “In this Year of Jubilee everyone is to return to their own property.”

This brings me to one of the reasons why I felt led of the Holy Spirit to write this blog today. While I do not believe there was any land taken from Israel during the Yom Kippur War, I can’t help but wonder if this war, starting within a day of that war’s 50-year Jubilee might hold great significance to the restoration of land for Israel. Has the time come to decimate the evil of Hamas and take back the land that they have occupied to restore it to its rightful owner: The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and their descendants?

While in prayer for the poor people of Israel who are suffering their tremendous losses from this gruesome attack, God began speaking to my heart to pray for the army of Israel, for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and all the leaders who will be making the decisions during the days ahead, for His Holy wisdom, so that every single decision which is made, is done according to His perfect plan. God began to remind me of the teachings of Rabbi Cahn because I do feel that in the days ahead, it is possible that we are going to see a war between Israel and Hamas like we have not witnessed in our present time.

The Bible tells us in Isaiah 55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,”
declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
I have learned this verse well and I know better than to try and ever think that I, with my humble human mind, could ever figure out that of my magnificent Creator. I just can’t help but wonder… is this war going to be one that goes the distance? Is it going to be a war that not only seeks retribution for the lives lost from the terrorist attacks today, but also fulfills the return of the land to its rightful owner according to the Word of God? Only time will tell, but we are living in very important days, a time when it is crucial that we both collectively as a nation, and individually stand with the Nation of Israel and the Jewish people.

I admit, I was nervous before President Biden came to address the nation about the attacks. Because of so many of his positions what are anti-God and God’s Word, I wasn’t sure where he was going to place his stance, but I was relieved after I heard him speak. President Biden and so many of our Amercian leaders coming forward to give their unwavering support on all efforts of Israel was exactly what I was hoping to hear. If our nation does not stand with Israel at all times and support them, America will not be blessed by the Almighty Hand of Adonai. We are already struggling to have God’s blessings in our land with all that so many others have done to remove Him from it. If we were to cut off our support for Israel, I can’t even imagine what would happen to us. I just need to reiterate God’s first promise in Genesis 12:3 “I will bless those who bless you and I will curse those who curse you.” I for one do not wish to see America cursed.

Another reason I felt led to write this blog is because several years ago, our family was called by God to begin teaching the Jewish roots of our faith. We embrace whole heartedly Ephesians 2:14-17 “For he is our peace, who made both one, and brake down the middle wall of partition, having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; that he might create in Himself of the two one new man, so making peace; and might reconcile them both in one body unto God through the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: and He came and preached peace to you that were far off, and peace to them that were nigh.” This verse teaches us Jesus Christ will bring Jew and Christian together to form ONE NEW MAN, with Jews accepting Him as their Messiah and Christians embracing their Jewish roots–and it’s happening! All over the world Jews are coming to Christ and Christians are coming to understand that Jesus was a Jew, born to Jewish parents, His disciples were all Jewish and none of them stopped being Jewish. They build New Testament upon the foundation of the Old Testament. The difference was that Jesus paid the price through His sacrifice on the cross so that through His blood we all could receive forgiveness of sins and everlasting life.

During this time of teaching the Jewish roots of our faith we quickly learned those in our circles who were not open to it. Not just that, but we quickly learned those who were antisemitic. We joined the World Jewish Congress Organization, began studying and learned that antisemitism is higher in the world right now than it was during Nazi-Germany– and I think in the days ahead, we will begin to see the emergence of that spirit of antisemitism as this war progresses.

Now more than ever, we must stand up for God’s Chosen people, the Jews and God’s Chosen Land, of Israel and we cannot waver in our stance of support. Our solidarity with the Nation of Israel must not only show the people of that nation our resolute message of support, but we must also show God, Adonai our faithfulness to stand up for Him as well, for as I said before, an attack on Israel, is an attack on God.

Today and every day, our family is lifting up the Israeli families who lost loved ones in the horrific attacks in prayer that God pours out His peace that passes all understanding, brings them His strength, healing, and comforts them every moment with His Holy Spirit.
We are lifting up all of the leaders of Israel that Adonai pours out upon them His divine wisdom, protection, strength, direction, and that He provides for them all their needs for the days ahead.
We are lifting up the Israeli Military in prayer for their wisdom, protection, provision, strength physcially, mentally and emotionally, and that God goes before them and fights their battles for them with His supernatural power so that their enemies are defeated before their eyes, as it is written in
Zechariah 14:3 “Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations as when He fights on a day of battle.” and Zechariah 4:6 “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.” Most of all, we will pray that God’s perfect will is accomplished through this horror and we will pray that Adonai takes this unspeakable tragedy and uses it to accomplish His divine purpose and will.
“Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10

At home, here in America, I am praying for our leaders. I am praying that ALL our American leaders give their total, unwavering support of Israel and if they don’t, I am praying to my God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and asking Him that those who don’t fully support Israel be voted out of office or lose their position, and that they are replaced with people who fear God, study and obey His Word, and pray to seek God’s will and direction before making any decisions for our nation. For some, those may sound like strong words. I believe they are. I agree with Pastor Larry Huch, it is time to make America Godly again!

My hope is that you will please join us in daily prayer for Israel and God’s people. Please keep your eyes and ears open upon God’s Nation and pray for the peace of Israel every day.
Psalm 122:6 “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they be secure who love you!”
